Seville Flamenco Biennial 2026 – Flamenco Women Film Series | ‘Contemporary Maestros’

Details

The Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo Foundation once again joins the programme of the Seville Flamenco Biennale, the largest and most prestigious festival dedicated to flamenco art internationally, with a flamenco film cycle.

The Foundation once again opens the Biennial's programming with a film series that positions cinema as a space for the meeting of cultures, artistic languages, and shared memories. Under the title “Flamenco dancers”, This proposal pays homage to the women who have decisively contributed to building, preserving, and projecting the flamenco universe both within and beyond our borders.

Through a careful selection of films and documentaries, the cycle explores the careers of essential figures in flamenco singing, dancing, and creation, bringing audiences closer to stories of talent, commitment, freedom, and overcoming adversity. These works celebrate the creative strength of women and assert their role as protagonists of one of the Mediterranean's most universal cultural expressions.

This cycle also represents a commitment to cinema made from women's perspectives and to the recognition of their contribution to the audiovisual industry, fostering new spaces for visibility, reflection, and dialogue between cinematic creation and cultural heritage.
