The CARPET (Craft, Art and People Together) project presents, for the first time in Andalusia, a selection of the designs that Ernesto Naranjo has created as a result of his own personal search within the realms of art and design and his collaborations with designers of international prestige such as John Galiano in Paris.

He presented his 2019-2020 Autumn-Winter collection on the 24th of January at Madrid gallery WecollectClub during Madrid Fashion Week, with a large and diverse audience who were able to enjoy his concept of fashion as something festive, powerful, creative, unifying and artistic.

Naranjo was trained at Central Saint Martins in London, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Fashion under the guidance of Fabio Piras and he was later granted the Alexander McQueen scholarship offered by the same faculty. He debuted at Ego de Cibeles in 2014. His first proposal – christened Límite and winner of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award – explored the strange dichotomy between the sky and the ground of the large metropoles. In his latest collection he focuses on women who, like Nevelson or Oppenheim, have rebelled against a preestablished code. In this case, dress code.

In the words of the designer himself, “The idea is to create personalities and women of different ages who enjoy fashion with a motto I’ve heard so often from my teachers: to have fun.”

The CARPET project is led by the Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) and has a partner in Portugal (CREARTE), another in the UK (CREATIVE KERNOW) and is also present in Morocco through collaboration with the APD. The initiative has financial support from the Europa Creativa programme and European culture funds.
