From Seville with Love. Flying CARPET

Flying CARPET begins its actions in the framework of the celebration of the World Wide Knitting Day in Public 2018. It has been held in Seville for some years as an impulse from the Distrito Sur of the City Council and the company Andoliando, through Juana Román.

From the CARPET project (Craft Art and People Together), the Three Cultures Foundation has designed activities to encourage citizens to take part in creative and social actions are:

 

Weavers in action

We are looking for volunteer weavers who, for aproximately few hours and two days, could be with a group of people belonging to groups that can not participate in cultural or social activities in the city. The weavers will help to create a link for the chain that we will assemble between May 9th and June 9th at the Prado de San Sebastián on the occasion of World Wide Knitting Day in Public 2018.

 

Free  workshop to learn and/or to perfect weaving. May 23rd and June 6th at the Three Cultures Foundation at 6:00 p.m.

Teaches: Juana Román, Andoliando founder ( www.andoliando.com ).

 

Weavers from the heart

The Muelle de la Sal weavers, next to the puente de Triana, (#tejedorasmuelledelasal ) will be in charge to weave a heart that will be continued later in other countries until arriving at a size of approximately 180 centimeters.Date: June 7th, at 6:30 p.m.

 

Weavers in love

Activity in collaboration with the celebration of the World Wide Knitting Day in Public 2018 that organizes annually the Distrito Sur of the City Council of Seville and Andoliando .It is a meeting of all the people who wish to weave a link to form a chain that will take other countries to continue weaving and it will be installed in different public places.

On June 9th, 2018. Place: Prado de San Sebastián, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

The CARPET project is coordinated by the Three Cultures Foundation together with the following partners in different countries: Creative Kernow in England, United Kingdom; CEARTE : Centro de Formaçao Profissional para o Artesanato e Património in Portugal; and APDN : Agence pour le Développoment du Nord du Maroc in Morocco.This project has the financial support of the European program Creative Europe.
