‘Guantanamo kid’: the importance of being Mohammed

24/10/2019 From 19:30

The Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) and Norma publishing house, with the collaboration of the Institut français, organise the presentation of Guantanamo kid, the true story of the youngest prisoner at Guantanamo, Mohammed El-Gorani.

A comic with script by Jérôme Tubiana, a journalist specialising in war conflicts, and illustrations by French artist Alexandre Franc, who stands out as one of the most advantages disciples of David B. and Marjane Satrapi.

Guantanamo kid is Tres Culturas’ (Three Cultures’) choice for the tenth anniversary of the Tres con libros (Three with books) reading club, to bring Mediterranean literature to the younger members of the public with the conviction of the power of the comic to help discover other realities. And because Guantanamo continues to be the best example of the fact that the fight for Human Rights should never prescribe or be limited by borders.

Jérôme Tubiana will attend the Colegio Aljarafe primary school and I.E.S. Gelves secondary school for an encounter with year three and four students on the 25th of October.

Translation from French to Spanish will be provided.

Free entry, bookings in advance. Book sales and signing following the presentation.
