Introductory course on Arabic language and culture
The course aims to provide the necessary keys to understanding the current reality of the Arabic world. History and language are therefore the two main axes it develops around. Linked with these, cultural topics will also be transversally approached such as religious manifestations, literature and day-to-day life, all depending on the time available but with the idea of providing the fullest possible general panorama.
Reading materials and other resources (links to websites and videos) will be provided to allow students to individually complete whatever there may not be time to cover in the classroom. This is in keeping with the participatory approach the course is intended to have, encouraging individual and group reflection to spark the students’ permanent interest in the topics covered once the course ends.
