11/05/2019 From 19:00

The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo (Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation) will once again be taking part in the 38th edition of the Granada Book Fair (May 10th-19th) with a speech by Italian philosopher Nuccio Ordine entitled Elogio de la inutilidad (Tribute to uselessness) on Saturday the 11th of May.

It’s worth remembering that last year, coinciding with the Fair, the Foundation celebrated the second edition of Tres Festival, Voices of the Mediterranean in Granada. A biennial date with Mediterranean literature that gathered around twenty authors from 16 countries. The third edition, preparations for which are already underway, will be held in 2020.

Nuccio Ordine is a humanist, philosopher and expert in Italian literature known particularly for his studies on the Renaissance and on Giordano Bruno. In Spain he became known a few years ago when Acantilado publishing house published La utilidad de lo inútil (The use of the useless) and Clásicos para la vida: una pequeña biblioteca ideal (Classics for life: an ideal little library). During his appearance, he will stress the importance of culture and the classics.
