Workshop `Rethinking the Sevillian tile of the 15th century´

14/05/2019 From 17:00

This new activity (of particular interest to students in the fields of the arts, design, architecture, etc.) invites participants to contribute to the design of a collection of tiles inspired by the Sevillian dry cord ceramic tradition of the 15th century. Employing creativity, conditional design and design thinking techniques, they will work to create more contemporary versions of the tiles of that historical period.

The aim is to work with a concept of flexible and experimental collection to create a graphic skin with the tiles. The participants will be able to play with experimentation, randomness and composition based on the deconstruction of the traditional tiles.

Free workshop limited to 25 participants. Enrolment essential via this link.

The workshop will take place at LAB Sevilla. Calle Peral, 57 bajo.

Materials to be provided by the participants:

Paper, felt tip pens, pens, coloured pencils.

Optional: laptop computer with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

The CARPET Project is coordinated by the Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) along with partners Creative Kernow in the UK, CEARTE in Portugal and APDN in Morocco. This project has financial support from the European Europa Creativa programme.
