Life in the city that is always reborn."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ivoox.com\/noria-beirut-charla-tomas-alcoverro-audios-mp3_rf_31560595_1.html\">Podcast<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The most veteran and awarded correspondent of a Spanish media in the Middle East gives us the opportunity, thanks to his editorial novelty <em>The Beirut Ferris Wheel. Life in the city that is always reborn<\/em>Alcoverro will take us through the history of its wars, but he will also show us the cheerful, nocturnal and multicultural side of the city that so many people inside and outside Lebanon fall in love with.<\/p>\n<p>Tom\u00e1s Alcoverro is the correspondent for <em>La Vanguardia<\/em> in the Middle East since 1970, making him the doyen of his class. Based in Beirut, he has been an eyewitness to the turmoil in the troubled region. He has lived through its wars and met its leaders, all of which he has chronicled in more than 8,000 articles for his newspaper. He has been awarded the Encomienda de Isabel la Cat\u00f3lica and the Creu de Sant Jordi, and has won the God\u00f3, Gaziel, Ortega y Gasset, V\u00e1zquez Montalb\u00e1n and Cirilo Rodr\u00edguez journalism prizes. He is the author of numerous books, such as <em>The Dean.
