Turkey on camera: 'The Last Letter'."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the historical crossroads between Eastern and Western cultures and home to great civilisations, Turkey continues to play an essential role as an intermediate space between the European and the Islamic.<\/p>\n<p>The history of Turkish cinema up to 1950 was sporadic and unknown. Somewhat later, the film industry experienced a golden age around the Istanbul-based production company Yesil\u00e7am, which between the 1950s and 1970s developed a large production of B-movies that competed with Hollywood blockbusters.
