The Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) and the Essaouira Mogador Association organise the 26th edition of the Festival of the Atlantic Andalusias in the Moroccan city of Essaouira from the 31st of October to the 3rd of November.
The Festival of the Atlantic Andalusias hosts musicians from different parts of the Mediterranean who bring value to the Judeo-Arabic legacy and the link between the music of Al Andalus and modern Andalusian flamenco.
On this occasion the Fundación Tres Culturas’ (Three Cultures Foundation’s) proposal is based on the ‘JRT Fragments’ show, which is presented in collaboration with the Seville Flamenco Biennial. It takes a trip through different flamenco styles constructed with some of the choreographies of the ‘JRT’ show, modelled on painter Julio Romero de Torres.
This show was presented with great success at the 19th Seville Flamenco Biennial in 2016 following its launch at the 2016 Jerez Festival and it has been very successful at the prestigious Flamenco Madrid 2017 and Flamenco Festival London 2018 festivals.
The quality and virtuosity of experienced dancers Leonor Leal, Úrsula López and Tamara López, guitarist Alfredo Lagos and percussionist Raúl Domínguez accompany the splendid voice of singer Gema Caballero.
