The Three Cultures Foundation is excited to be able to re-open its library to the public following its closure on the 13th of March due to the COVID-19 health crisis.
We have worked hard over the last few days to condition and sanitize the premises and to establish a protocol to guarantee the safety of both library staff and users. The library is due to open on the 17th of June, initially with a restricted timetable. Normal opening hours will not be resumed until the 14th of September, after the summer season, however that will depend on the situation when the time comes.
From the 17th of June to the 16th of July, services will be provided on site on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm. The rest of the time we will provide services by telephone and remote means only, also between 10am and 2pm. The library will remain entirely closed in August.
Members of the public are obliged to wear masks and use hydro-alcoholic gel (which will be made available at the entrance) to disinfect their hands, and to remain at least two metres away from library staff and other users.
The number of people permitted inside the library is restricted to 4 to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
Book loans and returns will be carried out on the aforementioned days and times. Items returned will be placed in isolation for fourteen days.
Further details of the new conditions of use and loan can be found via this link.
The Fátima Mernissi specialist library is a unique space in Andalusia due to the characteristics of its bibliographic and audiovisual fund. Created with the aim of being an instrument of support to the objectives of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo (Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation), it aims to be a useful tool for those who wish to discover the diversity of the Mediterranean. At the same time, we’re committed to promoting books and reading by carrying out an extensive cultural programme which includes book presentations, the Tres con libros (Three with books) reading club and the Tres Festival: voces del Mediterráno (Tres Festival: voices of the Mediterranean).
