The Fondation des Trois Cultures de la Méditerranée, with the collaboration of Casa Árabe and the publishing house Literatura Random House, starts the new season of the club Tres con libros with the reading ofAutomobile Club d'Égypte (Random House Literature), the latest work by the Egyptian writer Alaa El Aswany.
The author uses the popular tale to give birth to a choral romance set in the years preceding the Egyptian revolution of 1952.
Alaa El Aswany born in 1957, he works as a dentist in the centre of the Caire. His novel L'Immeuble Yacoubian (Maeva), brought to the screen by Marwan Hamed, has become an international publishing phenomenon. He signs today his latest novel with Automobile Club d'Égypte (Random House Literature), in which he continues to denounce corruption, hypocrisy and injustice in Egyptian society.
