Paginas-libro-silencio-web [1600x1200]The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation joins the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the signing of the peace agreements in Dayton (1995-2015), which put an end to the war in the hills that today separate southern Bosnia and Herzegovina from Croatia.

The current situation of its inhabitants twenty years later is shown in the photo-documentary work that the photographer Lucas Garra is exhibiting at the headquarters of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo from 10 December to 18 February under the title of "The Mediterranean and its inhabitants". Silence. The opening will include a guided tour of the images in the company of the artist after the presentation of the book of the same name, which brings together his impressions.

He was born in 1971 in Badajoz, where he lives and works. He has received training from great photographers such as Óscar Molina, José Manuel Navia, Ernesto Bazán, J. A. Moreno Montoya, Laura González, Ricky Dávila, Pep Bonet, Joan Roig, Grabriel Brau, Emilio Morenatti and Sergi Cámara. He spent thirteen years working in the world of graphic arts, which helped him to learn about printing and pre-printing systems. In 2000 he joined the newspaper 'HOY', where he currently contributes to design, computer graphics, photomechanics, photography and graphic editing.

He has published in media such as the newspapers 'HOY' and 'HOY.es', 'XL Semanal', 'Padres y colegios', 'Blanco y Oro', etc., in which he has dealt with education, flamenco, immigration, refugees, prostitution, drug addiction, destitution, nature, economy, culture, art and history, among others.

He won the First Graphic Press Award from the RTVE Advisory Council for the report 'Deleitosa, Spanish village' and the Honourable Mention in the City of Badajoz Journalism Award for the report 'Los últimos del zoo de Almendralejo' (The last ones in the Almendralejo Zoo).

Currently his work is mainly focused on anthropological and documentary photography, and he is interested in the human being in all its facets.
