The Fondation des Trois Cultures and the Association Essaouira Mogador are organising, in the Moroccan city of Essaouira, the 16th edition of the Festival des Andalousies Atlantiques which will take place from 31 October to 3 November 2019.
The Festival des Andalousies Atlantiques welcomes musicians from different regions of the Mediterranean who attach great value to the Judeo-Arabic heritage and to the link between the music of Al Andalus and Andalusian flamenco today.
On this occasion, the Fondation des Trois Cultures' proposal is based on the show "Fragments JRT", presented in collaboration with the Biennale du Flamenco de Séville. It is a journey through different styles of flamenco and inspired by the painter Julio Romero de Torres, built with some of the chorégraphies of the show "JRT".
This show was presented with great success at the XIX Biennale du Flamenco de Séville in 2016, after its premiere at the Festival de Jerez in 2016, and it was a great success at the prestigious festivals Flamenco Madrid in 2017 and Flamenco Festival in London in 2018.
The quality and virtuosity of the experienced dancers Leonor Leal, Úrsula López and Tamara López, the guitarist Alfredo Lagos and the percussionist Raúl Domínguez accompany the superb voice of the singer Gema Caballero.
