The Fundación Tres Culturas and Norma editorial, in collaboration with the Institut français, are organising the presentation of the book Guantánamo kid, the true story of the youngest prisoner in Guantanamo, Mohammed El-Gorani. A comic with a script by the journalist specialising in war conflicts Jérôme Tubiana and illustrations by the French cartoonist Alexandre Franc, who stands out as one of the outstanding disciples of David B. and Marjane Satrapi.
Guantánamo kid is the commitment of Tres Culturas, on the tenth anniversary of the Tres con libros reading club, to bring Mediterranean literature closer to the younger public, and it does so from the conviction of the power of comics to make other realities known. And because Guantánamo continues to be the best example of the fact that the fight for Human Rights should not prescribe or know any frontiers.
Jérôme Tubiana, scriptwriter of the work, will talk with the writer Isaac Rosa about the meaning of this story. During the event, the cartoonist Inma Otero Carrasco will also create a live portrait inspired by Mohammed El-Gorani.
Tubiana will also visit the Aljarafe School (where a group of students from the San Alberto Magno school in Dos Hermanas will also be present) and the I.E.S. Gelves for a meeting with students in the 3rd and 4th years of ESO.
Translation from French into Spanish will be provided.
Book sale and book signing after the presentation.
