The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Asamblea de Ciudadanos y Ciudadanas del Mediterráneo, is organising the virtual presentation of the work Mediterranean inequalities, the challenge of the 21st centuryby Ricard Pérez Casado, a book co-published by Catarata and the Fundación Asamblea de Ciudadanos y Ciudadanas del Mediterráneo (FACM).
Of all human aspirations, one is common to all societies: equality. The Enlightenment placed it among its great principles and the French Revolution incorporated it into its famous triad. Many of these ideas have their origins in the Mediterranean area, where inequality causes and perpetuates many of the conflicts that afflict its societies.
In this book, Ricard Pérez Casado unpacks the cultural, social and religious history of both shores of the Mediterranean to explain the inequality and conflicts (political, economic and environmental) of the Mediterranean area in the 21st century.
At the presentation ceremony, the author will engage in conversation with Vicent M. Garcés Ramón, president of the Assembly of Mediterranean Citizens.
