Welcome

Lorena García de Izarra

Directora gerente de Fundación Tres Culturas

Since August 16, I have assumed with great enthusiasm the direction of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, an institution whose career and prestige I have had the opportunity to learn first-hand before my appointment as a member of its board of trustees.

Since its creation, almost 25 years ago, Fundación Tres Culturas has worked tirelessly to become an instrument at the service of peace, dialogue and tolerance through culture and knowledge among peoples.

In these years many milestones have been reached by the Foundation. But, far from living in the past, those of us who make up this institution are very aware of its present and future relevant role.

Undoubtedly, in the current scenario, this institution is called upon to continue growing on the Euro-Mediterranean scene, reinforcing its essential strategic role in the field of cultural diplomacy, with special attention to Spanish-Moroccan relations. Together and in tune, we have been working since the beginning of this house, in pursuit of the consolidation of this space for coexistence that is the Mediterranean basin, in which cultural and religious diversity should be a reason for mutual enrichment.

I am aware, therefore, that in this new professional stage as managing director of the Tres Culturas Foundation, great challenges await me. A task for which I thank its two presidents and its board of trustees, who have entrusted me with this great responsibility that I assume with enthusiasm and commitment, aware of the importance of this unique and much-needed initiative.

I hope, of course, to also continue to count on you, our dear public, who accompanies and supports us as an inseparable part of this Foundation.
