It will also try to respond to some of the myths and misconceptions that most circulate among those who promote Islamophobia, in order to counteract the prejudices, stigmas and mistaken beliefs that generate hostility towards Islam.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, we are seeing how this type of racism towards the Muslim population is on the rise. Insults, cyber-hate, rumours... are some of the various forms in which Islamophobia is expressed. In this context, the roundtable aims, after a presentation on the current situation of the expansion of this type of discrimination, to dismantle those clich\u00e9s or myths about Islam that provoke the most prejudice and controversy.<\/p>\n<p>The round table will be attended by\u00a0<strong>Alfonso Casani<\/strong>FUNCI researcher, who will present the results of the report \"Islamophobia in Spain. National Report 2015\" published in April 2016;\u00a0<strong>Abdelaali Bariki,<\/strong>\u00a0president of Asociaci\u00f3n Azarquiel; and\u00a0<strong>Juan Ram\u00f3n Jim\u00e9nez,<\/strong>\u00a0D. in Educational Sciences from the University of Seville and lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Huelva.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the conference, we will visit the Hassan II pavilion. A tour to discover one of the jewels of Expo 92 and with a great architectural value.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>More information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alfonso Casani Herranz,<em>\u00a0\u2018<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/twistislamophobia.org\/2016\/04\/25\/islamofobia-en-espana-informe-nacional-de-2015\/\"><strong>Islamophobia in Spain.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>National Report 2015<\/strong><\/a><b><i>\u2018<\/i><\/b>, European<em>\u00a0Islamophobia Report 2015<\/em>\u00a0(Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research, 2016).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alfonso Casani Herranz<\/strong>\u00a0is a researcher at the 'Fundaci\u00f3n de Cultura Isl\u00e1mica' (FUNCI). Author of the report\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twistislamophobia.org\/2016\/04\/25\/islamofobia-en-espana-informe-nacional-de-2015\/\">Islamophobia in Spain. National report 2015<\/a>is currently working on the project '<a href=\"http:\/\/twistislamophobia.org\/\">Twistislamophobia<\/a>FUNCI and has collaborated in his book\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.funci.org\/publicaciones\/islam-and-constitutionalism-open-dialogue\/\">Islam and Constitutionalism: an open dialogue<\/a>. He is a doctoral student in the Department of Arab and Islamic Studies and Oriental Studies at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid and a member of the research group 'Taller de Estudios Internacionales Mediterr\u00e1neos' (TEIM) and the 'Grupo de Estudios sobre las Sociedades \u00c1rabes y Musulmanas' (GRESAM).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juan Ram\u00f3n Jim\u00e9nez Vicioso<\/strong>\u00a0is a pedagogue, PhD in Education Sciences from the University of Seville and lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Huelva. For 5 years he has directed the Master in Intercultural Education and participated in different research projects, training seminars, courses and publications on this subject. He is currently Deputy Director of the 'Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n en Migraciones' (CIM) and member of the Andalusian Anti-Rumour Network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abdelaali<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Bariki<\/strong>\u00a0is<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Pharmacist and social activist, current president of the Azarquiel cultural association of the Moroccan university community in Spain.
