PROGRAMME<\/font><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Tres Culturas is organising within the framework of the summer courses of the International University<\/st1:personname> of Andalusia (UNIA), with which it has been collaborating for 5 years, the course \"Africa: approaching an emerging continent\".<\/p>\n

From 15 to 19 September, the Foundation will visit this continent, one of the neediest and at the same time one with the greatest potential for future development, with a mainly young population and an amalgam of languages, cultures and religions.<\/p>\n

From a novel perspective, this course aims to demonstrate the reality in which African societies live, avoiding academicism and focusing on the different circumstances that shape their economic, political and social development. To this end, subjects such as immigration, armed conflicts and the role of women will be dealt with not only by specialists in the field, but also by speakers who have first-hand knowledge of these problems.<\/p>\n

In order to show a complete vision of the continent, the course will include, among others, Freddy Kanout\u00e9, footballer and head of cooperation projects in Mali; Albert Yaka, an immigrant who made the journey from Cameroon to Melilla in search of a better life; Gloria Ekereuwem, Nigerian journalist and president of the \"Women Between Worlds\" Association; the journalists Alfonso Armada and Eduardo del Campo, correspondents in Africa for several years; and Mila Ramos, president of the NGO \"Women in Conflict Zones\", which operates in several African countries.<\/p>\n

In addition to the classical treatment of the African continent, this course also offers a broader vision of the reality of Africa from other fields, such as art and culture. literature. For<\/st1:personname> Justo Bolekia, an Equatoguinean writer specialising in the literary production of Equatorial Guinea; Rasha, a Sudanese singer based in Granada; and Pep Bonet, a photographer whose work revolves around the African continent and who has made documentaries on Darfur, Somalia, the children of war and the impact of AIDS on the population.<\/p>\n

Through images, words and personal testimonies, it will offer a real portrait of Africa beyond the coldness of economic and statistical data, focusing on the most topical issues.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
