{"id":91388,"date":"2021-09-03T13:04:26","date_gmt":"2021-09-03T11:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tresculturas.org\/?post_type=noticias_fundacion&#038;p=91388"},"modified":"2024-10-18T07:49:01","modified_gmt":"2024-10-18T07:49:01","slug":"la-fundacion-tres-culturas-y-el-centro-sefarad-israel-firman-un-convenio-en-apuesta-por-el-legado-cultural-sefardi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tresculturas.org\/en\/la-fundacion-tres-culturas-y-el-centro-sefarad-israel-firman-un-convenio-en-apuesta-por-el-legado-cultural-sefardi\/","title":{"rendered":"The Fundaci\u00f3n Tres Culturas and the Centro Sefarad-Israel sign an agreement in support of the Sephardic cultural legacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>The 'Sepharad in Three Cultures' programme dedicates a large part of the activities in September to this end, with cinema, music and conferences. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior of the Andalusian Government and President of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, El\u00edas Bendodo, and the Director General of the Sefarad-Israel Centre, Miguel de Lucas, signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday between the two institutions to carry out joint dissemination, training and research activities related to the Jewish world and relations between Israel and Spain.<\/p>\n<p>This agreement renews the commitment and collaboration between both parties to promote, through cultural activities of all kinds, the recognition and enhancement of the legacy of Sephardic Jewish culture as an integral and living part of Andalusian and Spanish culture. In this way, we value \"the very important legacy that constitutes the Sephardic heritage in our present\", Bendodo stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The event, held at the headquarters of the Three Cultures Foundation, was also attended by Concha de Santa Ana, director of the Three Cultures Foundation; Enric Millo, secretary general for External Action of the Andalusian Regional Government; and Isaac Benzaqu\u00e9n, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The signing of this agreement facilitates the channels for carrying out dissemination, training and research activities related to the Jewish world and relations between the countries of Israel and Spain, to the benefit of both entities.<\/p>\n<p>The councillor indicated that for the Three Cultures Foundation this is one of its fundamental objectives, as demonstrated by the countless activities it carries out annually, mainly in three areas: the fight against anti-Semitism, the promotion of Jewish culture, heritage and patrimony in the world, and the celebration of festivities and commemorations relevant to the Jewish people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sepharad in Three Cultures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this sense, the director of the Fundaci\u00f3n Tres Culturas, Concha de Santa Ana, took the opportunity to announce what will be the starting signal for the many activities that will undoubtedly take place under the umbrella of this agreement.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 'Sepharad in Three Cultures' programme. A specific cycle of activities dedicated to Sephardic culture with which the Foundation returns to its usual activity after the summer break and, on the other hand, joins again the celebration of the European Days of Jewish Culture, in which more than 30 countries participate and which have been held every September for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>Among the activities planned, from Tuesday 7, the Foundation will dedicate the September film sessions to delve into our past through four feature films that extol the rich Sephardic heritage that is palpable and still alive in many places in Andalusia and Spain. On Monday 13th we will be holding a Sephardic gastronomy workshop in which those attending will be able to discover some of the recipes and ingredients that are the flagship of this rich culinary translation, which survives in a large part of our current recipe book.<\/p>\n<p>Literature will also have an important place in this cycle, with a poetry recital in Sephardic and Spanish. On Wednesday 22nd, at 9 p.m., the terrace of the Hassan II Pavilion will be the best possible setting for this recital of poems by Clarisse Nikoidski, considered the most important Sephardic language poet of the 20th century, and Mar\u00eda \u00c1lvarez-Rosario, whose second collection of poems, Mapa de la memoria, won the 4th Juana Castro Prize.<\/p>\n<p>Sephardic music will also be the protagonist of this cycle, with a concert by the group Memorias de Sefarad, which will take place on Thursday 23 September. This is a group made up of three musicians who are committed to the recovery and enhancement of the Sephardic musical legacy and the medieval Hispanic musical tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on 30 September, a very special session of the C\u00e1tedra al-Andalus series will take place, organised in collaboration with Centro Sefarad-Israel, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain and the Ibn Gabirol Association. Specifically, a conference that will pay tribute to Ibn Gabirol on the thousandth anniversary of his birth, entitled <em>The Jews in the 11th century. The historical context of the life of Solomon ibn Gabirol.<\/em>will bring us a little closer to this essential figure, a universal Andalusian considered the greatest Neoplatonist of the medieval Arab philosophical tradition and the most important of the medieval Hebrew poets. On 28 October, a second lecture of this special cycle will take place, entitled <em>Solomon ibn Gabirol: Light and Shadows<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>All activities in the programme of activities<strong>
