A journey through the cultures of Morocco<\/em> (La L\u00ednea del Horizonte), by professor, Arabist and translator Gonzalo Fern\u00e1ndez Parrilla.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The event will take place on Wednesday 7 June at 7 p.m. at the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies, <\/strong>and will feature Eric Calderwood, Professor of Comparative and Arabic Literature at the University of Illinois, who will host the conversation.<\/p>\n<p><em>South of Tangier<\/em> is part of the tradition of travel literature and is an invitation to read and also to travel to Morocco. It is an invitation to change ideas through travel and reading. In this work, the author tells us about an initiation trip to Morocco, an event that marked the beginning of a stage in which the different cultures that coexist in Morocco become the centre of his professional life. A leap between shores that meant not only a spatial change, but also a temporal transit: a journey that separates two realities that are close, but distant, different and distant, but also similar.<\/p>\n<p>Far from giving a tourist and stereotyped vision of Morocco, Fern\u00e1ndez Parrilla takes us into the nooks and crannies of a country that attracts us and inspires respect at the same time.
