Chair al-\u00c1ndalus dedicated to the thousandth anniversary of the foundation of the Taifa of Seville."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fundaci\u00f3n Tres Culturas del Mediterr\u00e1neo continues its cycle dedicated to commemorating the thousandth anniversary of the founding of the taifa of Seville with a concert-homage to al-Mutamid ibn Abbad, the last king of the Abadid dynasty and considered one of the most brilliant Andalusian poets.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will be performed by<strong> El Arabi Ensemble &amp; Eduardo Paniagua-M\u00fasica Antigua Ensemble'.<\/strong>They will perform some of the poems composed by the famous poet-king, including those dedicated to his father al-Mutadid, in praise of Silves, love poems and some of his creations from his exile in Agmat, where he composed his most famous poetic work.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, other works from the Andalusian repertoire preserved by oral tradition, which have survived to the present day in the form of anonymous sung poems, will also be performed.<\/p>\n<p>The Arabi Ensemble is composed of: El Arabi Serghini Mohammed (vocals, viola and derbuka), and Jamal Eddine Ben Allal (violin, choir).<\/p>\n<p>Early Music Ensemble composed of: Eduardo Paniagua (flutes, qanun\/saltery) and C\u00e9sar Carazo (singing and viola).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.es\/e\/entradas-festival-tres-culturas-eduardo-paniagua-654762832257\">Free admission until full capacity is reached, prior registration at THIS LINK.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the musicians:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eduardo Paniagua<\/strong>. Born in Madrid, musician and architect, he is a specialist in Spanish medieval music. He was a founding member of the musical groups Atrium Musicae (1966-1982) and C\u00e1lamus (1980-1994) with a large discography. He is currently director of the groups M\u00fasica Antigua and Ibn B\u00e1ya. His most outstanding work is the anthological recording of the Cantigas de Alfonso X el Sabio and the Andalusian and Sephardic heritage on the SONY and PNEUMA labels, of which he is the director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Arabi Serghini Mohammed<\/strong>. Born in Tangier, he began his apprenticeship in singing at the Zawiya (brotherhood) and later at the Conservatory of Tangier, until he was invited as a soloist voice in the Conservatory Orchestra. He was awarded the National Prize for Sufi Music in 1992 and 1993 with the group of Shaykh Mohammed El Mehdi Temsamani. A specialist in Andalusian music, he has mastered the Andalusian viola played on the leg and percussion instruments. Since 1994 he has collaborated with Eduardo Paniagua in the concerts and recordings of the Spanish-Moroccan group Ibn B\u00e1ya, later with the Ensemble Tre Fontane, and currently with his own group called El Arab\u00ed Ensemble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jamal Eddine Ben Allal<\/strong>. Born in Tangier and a graduate of its Conservatory, he is a violin teacher of Andalusian music, and first violin soloist of the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Tangier, of which he was director until 2010. He is considered to be the best specialist in violin played with the traditional technique on the left leg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C\u00e9sar Carazo<\/strong>.
