The motifs created in this way, similar to marble patterns, are then transferred to paper. Among its uses is as a support for Turkish calligraphy or, in our culture, as a bookbinding medium.<\/p>\n<p>To learn about the process of creating this technique, we will be joined by the Turkish artist <strong>Nuran \u00d6ner, <\/strong>who will give a workshop on <strong>wednesday 25 october<\/strong> at the Foundation's headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>The same workshop will be held in the mornings and afternoons to facilitate access to it. Invitations from 1 p.m. on Friday 20.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Co-organisers:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-92653\" src=\"https:\/\/tresculturas.org\/f3c\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Lpgo-YUNUS.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"124\" height=\"136\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the Turkish art of ebru:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inscribed in 2014 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, ebru or marbled paper dates back to the 15th century. Originating in Turkey and traditionally called <em>ebru<\/em>meaning cloud or overcast, it was the appreciation of its beauty that drove its spread in Europe from the end of the 16th century.<\/p>\n<p>Originally, this technique was an artistic tool linked to the Islamic religion. Between the 15th and 19th centuries, it was a work of art intended to praise Allah: marbled or marbled paper served as backgrounds on which his name was calligraphed, as well as fragments of suras from the Qur'an. Another element traditionally used is the flower, as one of the principles of beauty, and associated with the Ottoman garden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nuran \u00d6ner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He has mastered traditional Turkish arts such as tezhip and ebru and has participated as an artist in several European Union projects. In addition to her solo exhibitions, she has participated in several group exhibitions in Turkey and other countries such as the United States, Germany, Bahrain, Spain and Morocco, holding ebru workshops in these countries. He has been teaching the art of ebru in various Turkish institutions since 2007 and currently continues to teach in his workshop, G\u00fcldeste Ebru At\u00f6lyesi, founded in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-125242\"
