Organised by the Asociación de Amistad Andaluza Marroquí - Foro Ibn Rushd and the Asociación Colegial de Escritores de Andalucía, this event is sponsored by the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, which in 2024 celebrates its 25th anniversary as a space for dialogue and understanding between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

For three days, renowned writers and academics will meet in emblematic venues in the city, such as the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, the Royal Academy of Cordoba and the Mudéjar Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Cordoba. Through round tables, talks and dialogues, the meeting aims to strengthen the cultural ties between Morocco and Andalusia, highlighting the meeting points between the two territories and highlighting their shared literary heritage.

The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, the main sponsor, thus reinforces its commitment to promoting intercultural exchange and mutual understanding. In this special edition, the Foundation is proud to support an event that reflects its values of cooperation and dialogue, promoting the recognition of a rich and diverse cultural identity that connects North Africa with Southern Europe. This meeting highlights the Foundation's mission: to build bridges between communities and countries through respect and appreciation of their cultures and traditions, while facing the current challenges demanded by a globalised world.

In addition to its many activities, the event will be an opportunity to celebrate two and a half decades of work by the Three Cultures Foundation, reaffirming its role as a benchmark in the promotion of coexistence, diversity and peace in the Mediterranean. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique space for the exchange of ideas and experiences, which will contribute to enriching both literary creation and mutual understanding between the two territories.

With this Meeting of Andalusian and Moroccan Writers, Cordoba becomes the setting for a vibrant cultural crossroads, reflecting a tradition of dialogue that continues to mark the future of relations between Andalusia and Morocco.

Further information

https://encuentroalmenara.com/

This activity is subsidised by the Junta de Andalucía, within the framework of the subsidy granted by the Consejería de la Presidencia, Interior, Diálogo Social y Simplificación Administrativa (Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification).

Córdoba acogerá del 5 al 7 de noviembre el Encuentro de Escritores Andaluces y Marroquíes Marruecos y Andalucía, un mismo continente sentimental.
