The Fundaci\u00f3n Tres Culturas del Mediterr\u00e1neo, after the summer period, resumes its reading club Tres con libros (Three with books) and does so with the work\u00a0Compass\u00a0<\/strong>by the French writer, journalist and translator,\u00a0Mathias Enard<\/strong>for which he won the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 2015.<\/p>\n

Mathias Enard<\/strong>\u00a0(Niort, France, 1972). After studying Arabic and Persian and spending long periods in the Middle East, he settled in Barcelona in 2000. A member of the editorial board of the magazine 'Inculte' in Paris, in 2005 he was elected writer-in-residence at the prestigious Villa Medici in Rome. He has taught Arabic at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Enard is the author of the novels 'La perfecci\u00f3n del Tiro' (Reverso, 2004), 'Remontando el Orinoco' (La Otra Orilla, 2006), 'El manual del perfecto terrorista' (La Otra Orilla, 2007), 'Zona' (La Otra Orilla, 2008), 'Habladles de batallas, de reyes y elefantes' (Literatura Random House, 2011), 'El alcohol y la nostalgia' (Literatura Random House, 2012) and 'Calle de los Ladrones' (Street of Thieves).\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(Random House Literature', 2013). He has won several prizes, including the Prix de la Francophonie 2004, the Prix D\u00e9cembre, the Prix du Livre Inter, the Prix Goncourt des \u00c9tudiants in 2010 and the Prix Goncourt 2015 for 'Compass', his latest novel (Literatura Random House).<\/p>\n
