Conference 'Al-Andalus and the history of Europe'."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The March session of the C\u00e1tedra Al-Andalus moves to the palace of the Marqueses de la Algaba to celebrate more than eight years of continuous meetings and talks on the transcendence of Andalusian times.<\/p>\n<p>The director of the Chair, Emilio Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn, will briefly review the achievements of this project and will focus on its intellectual objective: that Al-Andalus represented a first Renaissance, insofar as a part of Europe, the Iberian Peninsula, condensed the culture of the times expressed in Arabic and facilitated its transfer to the various European languages. Scientific instruments, philosophical reflections on faith and reason, anthropocentric novels and musical assimilations are among the Andalusian contributions to the continuous cultural elaboration that led to the rise of European culture.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held at the Palacio de los Marqueses de la Algaba (P\/ Calder\u00f3n de la Barca, s\/n\u00ba CP 41003 Sevilla).
