We begin our 2025 film programme with a cycle dedicated to the Nador International Film and Common Memory Festival, with three sessions on Tuesdays 14, 21 and 28 January showing some of the award-winning films from the last edition. With their profound narratives and richly constructed characters, these award-winning works reflect the history, social concerns and environmental challenges of their respective contexts.<\/p>\n

We inaugurate this cycle on Tuesday 14th with the screening of the documentary film Four Veins,<\/em> by director Nonio Parejo, who will be present that afternoon along with the two protagonists of the film, Pl\u00e1cido Rodr\u00edguez and Maribel Adri\u00e1n, and the documentary filmmaker and director of communication of the Festival, Rafael Guerrero.<\/p>\n

Four veins.<\/strong><\/em> Nonio Parejo. Spain, 2024, 56 min.<\/p>\n

A documentary film chronicling the conservation work of the bird species horned coot<\/em> in the Ca\u00f1ada de los P\u00e1jaros, a protected area in the province of Seville, close to the Do\u00f1ana Park. This film was awarded for its cinematographic authenticity, highlighting the importance of cinema as a tool for raising environmental awareness. The protagonists of the documentary, Pl\u00e1cido Rodr\u00edguez and Maribel Adri\u00e1n, who have dedicated their lives to breeding birds of endangered species without any support, shone for the cinematographic veracity of their lives and their dedication to this endeavour, movingly portrayed in this work.<\/p>\n
