However, there is a lack of exclusive studies dedicated to key figures such as the cadi, or judge, in order to understand the evolution of the administration of justice in al-Andalus, and its specific characteristics in this territory and in the Islamic West.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this new session of the Chair of al-Andalus is to offer a more specific approach to the judicial organisation and the administration of justice during the Almoravid period. To this end, we will have the lecture given by the lecturer <strong>Rachid El Hour<\/strong>Arabist and historian and Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Salamanca. El Hour is also the author of several works on the subject, such as <em>The Almoravid judicial administration in al-Andalus. Elites, negotiations and confrontation<\/em> (2006) o <em>Cadis and Cadihood in al-Andalus and the Medieval Maghreb<\/em> (2012).
