The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Route Association and the Anna Lindh Foundation, is co-organising the Seminar Conference on Hate Speech, Responsible Journalism and Social Action.

In a global context marked by polarisation and the proliferation of hate speech on social media and in the media, this seminar seeks to create a space for reflection and debate on the role of journalism and social action in building a more inclusive society. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the gathering will address the challenges facing both communication professionals and civil society organisations in the fight against disinformation and the promotion of democratic values.

The event will be structured into two panel discussions. The first, ‘Journalism and hate speech’, will feature experts such as Jesús Toronjo (Regional Government of Andalusia), José Lugo (La Razón) and Alicia Moreno Delgado (International University of La Rioja), who will analyse the impact of hate speech in the press and on social media. The second panel, ‘Social action and polarisation’, will bring together representatives from the Third Sector, the Atenea Foundation and the SEPT PLACES Association, who will share experiences and good practices to combat exclusion and discrimination.
