C'est sur cette pr\u00e9misse qu'Emilio Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn construit la th\u00e8se qu'il d\u00e9veloppe dans les pages de ce livre. Il affirme que la mer a \u00e9t\u00e9 le v\u00e9hicule qui a facilit\u00e9 la continuit\u00e9 de la civilisation gr\u00e9co-latine de l'Antiquit\u00e9, qui a surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 Alandalus, l'une des cultures les plus avanc\u00e9es de son \u00e9poque et un morceau d'Orient en Occident gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une sorte d'homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 culturelle d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e le long de ses rives. Cependant, cette entit\u00e9 culturelle a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 per\u00e7ue en Espagne, depuis nos jours, comme quelque chose d'\u00e9trange, quelque chose que l'on contourne ou que l'on utilise en faveur de certains r\u00e9cits mythiques \u00e0 la fois dans un sens (un pass\u00e9 idyllique \u00e0 retrouver) et dans l'autre (un \"eux\" pour affronter le \"nous\" de la Reconqu\u00eate).<\/p>\n<p>Au <em>Alandalus. L'Orient \u00e0 l'Ouest,<\/em> Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn propose une lecture diversifi\u00e9e et \u00e0 contre-courant de l'histoire de notre pays, exempte de mythification et d'acad\u00e9misme.
