On the occasion of the celebrations dedicated to the Day of Andalusia, the Tres Culturas Foundation offers a concert that shows a necessary musical dialogue between cultures.
Mediterranean Women merge flamenco with music of Arabic origin in the key of female complicity. Four components, female instrumentalists of both traditions. In their proposal the oriental and Andalusian rhythms are interlaced between flamenco harmonies and songs from the Middle East.
Oriental and Andalusian rhythms are interwoven between Flemish harmonies and Middle Eastern songs, in an exploration that seeks the bridges of dialogue between East and West in a free and playful way. The “pinch” of the flamenco guitar, the rhythmic variations of the darbuka, Habiba’s voice and the Mixtlán’s magic flute wander between Morocco, East and Spain transporting us to exotic landscapes that are familiar to us.
