The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation and the Zenobia-Juan Ramón Jiménez Foundation will take part in the World Poetry Day commemorations (March 21st) by organizing the presentation of Poems of Marrakech (Facediciones) by Antonio Ramírez Almanza.
In this book, Ramirez Almanza takes the reader to an internal and sensorial tour of the Moroccan city through its people and culture. This bilingual edition has been translated into Arabic by Mezouar El Idrissi.
The author will be accompanied by Mohamed Hammu, writer and contributor to the book.
Following the book presentation, the writers will recite some poems in Spanish and Arabic. Students of the Arabic language course organized by The Three Cultures Foundation will join this poetry reading.
Antonio Ramírez Almanza (Rociana del Condado. Huelva, 1956)
Director of the Zenobia-Juan Ramón Jiménez Foundation and founding member of the literary group LAGAR. He has worked in the fields of politics, literature and history.
Mohamed M. Hammu (Melilla, 1965)
Storyteller, writer and poet. His recent publications advocate the importance of the presence of women in literature, as reflected in their feminine titles: Huria (Huria), Mar memoria (Memory sea), Sherezades, cuentos de mujeres beréberes (Scheherazades, tales of Berber women), Aún no (Not yet).
