The Three Cultures Foundation of the Mediterranean participates with the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville and the research group Ruins, Expolios and Intervenciones en Patrimonio (Ruins, Expolios and Intervenciones en Patrimonio) in the organization of the “Nazi expolio and the return of cultural property” seminar. The event will be next February 14th at 19:00 h.in Pablo de Olavide university
The seminar will explore the different solutions that have been given by governments regarding the restitution or compensation of assets illegally seized during the Nazi era. The purpose of this is to promote awareness and knowledge of the Holocaust in schools and universities as a necessary element to maintain memory and respect for victims.
The session will be attended by:
- Colette Avital. Diplomatic and Israeli Politics. He chaired the Commission of Inquiry for the Identification and Return of Property to Holocaust Victims in Israel.
- Therese O’donnell. Professor at the University of Strathclyde. Specialist in Holocaust and return of goods.
- Miguel Martorell. Professor of Political and Social History in the department of Social History of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of the UNED. He was a member of the Governmental Commission of investigation on the heritage dispossessed by the Nazis.
