The Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) joins celebration of World Refugee Day, which each 20th of June provides us with an opportunity to show our support for the thousands of people who are forced to abandon their homes.
The event kicks off at 8.30pm with the screening of the documentary Shadow Music: the Soundroutes, followed by a concert by The SoundRoutes Band & Mashrabiya.
Soundroutes, notes to get closer is a project backed by the Sevilla Marmaduke musical agency, in cooperation with Italian NGO Un Ponte Per…, the Bolonia Jazz Festival and Werkstatt Der Kulturen of Berlin and of Koer (Belgium.)
The SoundRoutes initiative offers international musicians who emigrated to Europe the chance to perform in the host communities in collaboration with other local artists with an aim to supporting their integration in the social and professional environments.
In Seville, the Mashrabiya quartet together with Syrian musician Muhannad Dughem is a formation that proposes a process of seeking of sonorities, of tones, of original cadences that starts in the Middle East and gathers dances and songs of the Mediterranean during its journey to Andalusia.
At a European level, the SoundRoutes Band is formed by four refugeed musicians, migrants from Syria and Senegal who have settled in Berlin, Brussels and Rome. The band, under the artistic direction of Guglielmo Pagnozzi, has developed a repertoire of Arabic and afro-beat music. Due to its nature, this project is supported by the European Commission’s Creative Agency.
Free entry, bookings must be made in advance.
