During the month of September, the European Days of Jewish Culture are held in more than 30 countries, with the aim of raising awareness of the cultural and historical heritage of the Jewish people. It is a joint initiative of the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture (AEPJ), the European Council of Jewish Communities, B'nai B'rith Europe and the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.
The enhancement of the value of the Jewish legacy in its cultural and historical dimension is one of the objectives that we at Fundación Tres Culturas consider essential.
To this end, we offer a programme that includes a film series dedicated to the Sephardic heritage in Spain and Portugal, given the importance of the cultural contribution that the mark of Sepharad has impregnated in the identity and physiognomy of the Iberian Peninsula.

Considered the "Portuguese Dreyfus", the military officer Barros Basto (Rodrigo Santos), on discovering his Jewish roots, decides to preside over the Jewish Community of Porto in the first half of the 20th century. He put all his efforts into regrouping the Portuguese crypto-Jews who maintained their rituals and identity after the edict of expulsion or forced conversions of 1496, but he encountered several obstacles in this endeavour.
