Coinciding with the celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, the Three Cultures Foundation celebrated two breaks of fasting or iftar. The first of these, held on 31 March, was an institutional ceremony. in which Andalusian and Moroccan authorities, as well as representatives of the three monotheistic religions, shared moments of unity, fraternity and mutual respect. At the celebration, we were honoured to have the two Presidents of this institution, the Counsellor of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, and the Counsellor of HM the King of Morocco, André Azoulay. Also taking part in this symbolic event were the Secretary General of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communication, Abdel Illah Afifi; the Secretary General for External Action of the Andalusian Regional Government, Enrique Millo Rocher; the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Seville, Sidi Sidi Abah; and the director of the Three Cultures Foundation, Concha de Santa Ana. Isaac Benzaquén, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain; Gabriel Sánchez, delegate for Ecumenical Dialogue of the diocesan Archdiocese of Seville; and Jalid Nieto, representative of the Seville Mosque Foundation participated in representation of the three monotheistic religions, and in their speeches they highlighted the value of fraternity and solidarity between cultures and religions as pillars of a richer and more pluralistic society. Before breaking the fast, the call to prayer, or Al-Adan, was given by Hachim Dinar, president of the Sufi Brotherhood of Essaouira. His virtuosity thrilled those present as the dome of the Hassan II Pavilion was opened. The event also featured the music of Sarah AricheMoroccan performer born in Tangier, and her violist Simohamed Chakli. On the second iftar, 19 April, We were accompanied by the Consul General of Morocco, Sidi Sidi Abah, and representatives of the Muslim, Christian and Jewish faiths, as well as numerous institutions, groups, NGOs, intercultural mediators, etc., who made the evening a very special occasion. This conviviality was enlivened by the group Almawislycomposed by the singer Iman Kandoussi and the instrumentalists Amine Tailassane and Chiqui García Montijo.
