The Board of Trustees of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, which met on 16 August by telematic means, unanimously elected Lorena García de Izarra as the new managing director of the institution, taking over from Concha de Santa Ana Fernández.
The presidents of the Foundation, the Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, and the Advisor to the King of Morocco, André Azoulay, thanked Concha de Santa Ana for her work at the head of Tres Culturas since February 2021, in a period marked by the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the beginning of a new framework for Spanish-Moroccan relations.
The new director-manager, Lorena García de Izarra, was unanimously elected in view of her long professional career in the field of Legal Studies, International Business and Public Administration, highlighting her more than six years of work in the Autonomous Public Administration, in which she has held positions of responsibility, such as deputy minister of Economy, Knowledge, Business and University in the previous legislature.
Her last position, as Director General of Extenda, the Foreign Promotion Agency of the Andalusian Regional Government - an entity with a special impact on the promotion of economic cooperation with Morocco - allowed her to join the board of trustees of the Three Cultures Foundation, which has given her first-hand knowledge of the functioning of this institution.
