The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Institut français de Sevilla and the publishing house Cabaret Voltaire, is organising the presentation of the book Sweet song by Leila Slimani, on 21 September at 9 p.m. on the terrace of the Foundation. The author will be joined in conversation with the journalist and director of eldiario.es/andalucia Lucrecia Hevia.

Winner of the Goncourt Prize in its last edition, Leila Slimani draws on real events to invite reflection on women and their role in the family structure and in today's society, based on a horrifying crime.

With this work, the author reveals herself not only as one of the great names in Franco-Moroccan literature of our time, but also in the whole of European literature today.

About the author

Leila Slimani was born in Rabat in 1981 to a Moroccan father and a French-Algerian mother. After graduating from the French lycée in Rabat, he went to Paris to enrol at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and then at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, where he specialised in the media. After several years as a journalist in L'Express y Jeune Afriquedecided to devote himself entirely to literature. With his first novel, Dans le jardin de l'ogre (2014), in which she tackled the subject of female sexual addiction, received unanimous critical acclaim.
