During the 27th, 28th and 29th of April, the ‘I Jornadas de Acercamiento entre Culturas’ will take place in Huelva; an activity that aims to bring the cultural diversity latent in our society closer to the people, in which the Tres Culturas Foundation collaborates alongside other institutions such as the Huelva City Council and the Consulate General of Morocco.
A few days during which the benefits of this cultural pluralism are intended to be demonstrated, recognizing the importance of constant transfers and exchanges and the links created between them, and which, in this case, will focus on Arab and European culture and, in particular, on the province of Huelva.
Therefore, and based on the UNESCO General Conference “Promoting Dialogue among Peoples” and taking into account the XV Anniversary of the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, these days are presented as a project aimed at promoting the integration and participation of people from different backgrounds.
Huelva will be the meeting place for developing a program of activities in which we will find academic and literary conferences on Muslim culture, led by personalities such as Eloísa Bernáldez from the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage, Houssien El Quariachi or Juan José Téllez. They will be joined by photographer Jesús Botaro and the Portuguese Carlos Marqués Da Silva from the University of Lisbon who, together with Ana Santos Y Aicha Johri Morigh, will talk to us about the other two thematic axes of these days: the art of photography and gastronomy as a sign of identity of a culture.
The public attending the event will also be able to visit a photographic exhibition and attend the cooking workshop with tasting that will be held on the 29th. Finally, as a final touch, there will be a Moroccan Traditional Music Concert that will take place at 18:35h at the Casa Colón in Huelva, the meeting place for these Days.
