Dos Orillas' Tournament for Moroccan and Andalusian teams in La Línea de la Concepción

The Tres Culturas Foundation together with the Andalusian Football Study, Development and Research Centre (CEDIFA), the Ministry in charge of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs, and the League of Northern Morocco, are organising the International Sports and Cultural Tournament "Dos Orillas" from 18 to 21 April in La Línea de la Concepción, in which Andalusian and Moroccan teams will take part.

In total there will be 20 teams from Morocco and another 20 Andalusian teams from Campo de Gibraltar, Estepona and Benahavís in the Alevín and Benjamín categories. This tournament aims to promote coexistence and friendship between Spanish and Moroccan children. For this reason the tournament will be accompanied by a multitude of parallel activities to promote the bonds between the boys and girls of both cultures, such as a children's party, entertainment groups, painting workshops and drinks tastings.

During the three days of the tournament, the young participants will also be able to have their photographs taken with the World Cup and the European Cups won by the Spanish national football team, which will preside over the matches of this championship of solidarity and fraternisation between the Moroccan and Andalusian people.

Our director, José Manuel Cervera; the mayor of La Línea de la Concepción, Juan Franco; the deputy mayor and municipal sports delegate, Helenio Lucas Fernández; the director of CEDIFA, Francisco López Servio; the president of the LALIGA Federation of Northern Morocco, Abdelatif Afla, and the president of the Friendship and Cooperation Association of Northern Morocco, Rachid Yousri, have appeared to present this tournament.

Thanks to the collaboration agreement signed in 2009 between the Fundación Tres Culturas and CEDIFA, conferences, round tables, cultural and sporting exchanges and tournaments have been held since then, including this 'Dos Orillas' tournament.

This activity is sponsored by the Ministry of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs in the framework of the programme 'Alqantara: bridges for dialogue and coexistence', which is being carried out in 2016.
