The Fundación Tres Culturas collaborates in the events of the Francophonie Week with the screening of the film A Jamaâ (The mosque), by Moroccan director Daoud Aoulad-Syad, which will be screened in its original version with French subtitles.
The film participated in the Official Selection of the San Sebastian Film Festival in 2014, winning a special mention from the jury "for the simplicity of a story that hides the complex". This comedy stems from Aoulad-Syad's previous film, Fi Intidar Pasolini, which narrated the shooting of a film in a small village in southern Morocco. For the filming, sets were built on land leased by the villagers and a mosque was erected on the plot of Moha, a villager who also acted in the film. At the end of filming, the villagers tore down all the sets except the mosque, which had become a real place of prayer for everyone, which was a disaster for Moha, who grew the vegetables on which his family lived.
