The Foundation begins its cycle of concerts with a group of renowned and multifaceted musicians who present a journey through different Mediterranean aesthetics, bringing together characteristic elements of their different musical styles and fusing them within a jazz framework.
Akdeniz was born from the initiative of five musicians from very different styles, such as jazz, flamenco and oriental music, which they fuse to perfection with a repertoire of traditional Turkish music, performed by the great vocalist Iman Kandoussi. A project that delves into Turkish tradition, leaving room for improvisation by all its components, including the singer.
The members of the group are Iman Kandoussi (vocals), Antonio Montiel (percussion), Chico Salto (double bass), Mario Pousada (oud), and Nacho Botonero (sax, flute and clarinet).
