As it has every January since 2004, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation will hold a series of activities on the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day and for the Prevention of Crimes against Humanity, a date marked to commemorate the Holocaust and which coincides with the liberation of the Auschwitz camp on 27 January 1945.
This year's events have been organised in collaboration with the Centro Sefarad-Israel, the Asociación Biblioteca de la Deportación, the Seminario de Estudios del Holocausto -Shoá- y el Antisemitismo de la UPO, and the Comunidad Judía Progresista de Andalucía Beit Rambam.
The programme will be twofold, as the commemorative events will be complemented by an educational aspect, with the aim of educating future generations to avoid similar situations.

Film screening Free men and talk about the Holocaust.
This year's events will begin with the screening of the film, which will be followed by a talk by José Cruz, co-director of the UPO's Seminar for Holocaust -Shoah- and Anti-Semitism Studies, specialist in the history of contemporary Judaism and the Holocaust and author and coordinator of the book Holocaust and Crimes against Humanity: Keys to and Trajectories of Anti-Semitism.
The scheduled film is Free menby Ismaïl Ferroukhi, based on real events, which depicts the efforts of the Muslim community of North African origin (embodied in the figure of the imam of the Paris mosque, Si Kaddour Benghabrit) to protect Jews and help the Resistance.
Both the film and the talk are especially aimed at students in the 2nd cycle of ESO and Bachillerato. Schools interested in this event, which is free and open access until full capacity is reached, can register via the following email address: doloresj@tresculturas.org

On Thursday 29th, the traditional candle-lighting ceremony in memory of the victims will take place, followed by a lecture by Mr. Jorge Klainman, Holocaust survivor and author of the autobiographical work The Seventh Miraclewill be presented by Rafael Rodríguez Prieto, co-director of the Seminar for Holocaust -Shoah- and Anti-Semitism Studies at the UPO and author and coordinator of the work On the frontiers of anti-Semitism: old and new spaces in the Internet society.
Free admission until full capacity is reached.
