The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation will be present at the III working forum organised by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Tetouan from 11 to 13 December 2014 in that city under the title of Tourism: 'The 2020 vision and its role in the economic development of the Tanger-Tetouan Region'.
The Foundation has set up a stand to inform visitors about its activities and projects, and to participate in workshops and debates. The region of Tangier-Tetouan hosts numerous projects organised by the Foundation in collaboration with other institutions; it is worth mentioning the visit last weekend of more than 40 young people from Andalusia and Morocco who met in Tangier, Tetouan and Chaouen during these days of coexistence and joint work in the framework of the RILAH project.
The Foundation thus shows its interest in having first-hand information on tourism, a key element in the social and economic development of Spain and Morocco. As can be read in the digital publication Morocco Business of 5 December 2014 in the article by the economist Anwar Zibaoui, entitled Mediterranean tourism, the need for changetourism continues to boom throughout the Mediterranean despite the economic crisis. However, it also draws attention to the need for an overhaul of current forms and structures in order to grow towards more sustainable and quality tourism.
