The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo with the collaboration of the Centro Sefarad Israel and the Progressive Jewish Community of Andalusia, Beit Rambam, celebrates for the second consecutive year the festival of Hanukkah in Seville.
The event, which will take place at the Foundation's headquarters on Monday 22 December at 20.00, will include speeches by the Foundation's director, Elvira Saint-Gerons Herrera; the director of the Centro Sefarad Israel, Miguel de Lucas; and the president of Beit Rambam, Lelie Routman. After the speeches, the seventh candle of the chanukiah, the eight-branched candelabra symbolising each of the eight days of the so-called Feast of the Luminaries, will be lit.
The ceremony will conclude with a concert by the group Yomuri, an original group from Seville in which various genres of traditional music converge, with special emphasis on klezmer music and incorporating swing, Balkan rhythms and tango into the repertoire.
