The movement Warriors for Peace organises the days 19 and 20 September 2025 in the Moroccan city of Essaouira the second edition of the Women's World Forum for Peace. An important meeting that has been defined by the founder of this movement, Hanna Assouline, as "a cry of urgency launched in the midst of a world in flames".
"In the face of the destructive spiral that is engulfing our world, it is imperative to join forces and form a common front to demand peace, justice and dignity for all peoples. In Essaouira, it will not simply be a forum: it will be the expression of the political and moral power of the international solidarity of women and civil society activists. In line with the UN General Assembly in New York, our appeal aims to influence the world stage and remind leaders that the world can no longer ignore the urgency of peace", explained Hanna Assouline in an interview with the publication 'Femmes du Maroc'.
It is precisely for this reason that Essaouira, a city that symbolises dialogue, shared memory and coexistence, has been chosen as an emblematic venue for this forum. It will bring together activists, artists, researchers, political and citizen representatives from Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Iran, Liberia, Morocco, Afghanistan, Senegal and France, among many other countries, in an interesting conference whose opening session will be attended by the co-president of the Three Cultures Foundation and Advisor to the King of Morocco, His Majesty Mohammed VI, Mr André Azoulay; Hanna Assouline herself; and the mayor of Essaouira and member of the Three Cultures Board of Trustees, Tarik Ottmani.
The forum programme will also include round table discussions, the screening of the documentary film Résister pour la paixa musical proposal and a very special moment: the Women's International Appeal for PeaceThe event will be a solemn event in which women from all over the world will express a common message, in the presence of: Grace Towah Jackson (Liberia), Hiba Qasas and Huda Abu Arqob (Palestine), Nava Hefetz, Achinoam Nini and Yael Admi (Israel), Fatna El Bouih (Morocco), Aïda Tavakoli (Iran), Fatemeh Jailani (Afghanistan), Ken Bugul (Senegal), etc.
