The Three Cultures Foundation inaugurates its autumn programme with the Monia’s Quartet Arab Flamenco Project concert

Details

The Three Cultures Foundation is resuming its cultural programme after the summer period with a musical proposal that celebrates the dialogue between Mediterranean cultures through flamenco. This is the concert Monia’s Quartet Arab Flamenco Project, led by the singer of Tunisian origin Monia Abdelali, taking place on 23 September at 20:30.

The show offers an exciting journey through the historical, musical and emotional bonds that unite the Arab tradition and flamenco, two artistic languages that share roots, sensibilities and a deep capacity for expression. Accompanied by prominent musicians from the flamenco and contemporary jazz scenes, Monia Abdelali builds a sonic dialogue in which Arabic modes, Mediterranean music and the expressive power of flamenco converge.

Born in Gabès Tunisia, Monia Abdelali grew up immersed in the traditional songs of her region and completed her training in Arabic singing at the Higher School of Art in Gabès, where she graduated with honours. Her artistic career has led her to take part in audiovisual productions in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, as well as in major international festivals. Based in Seville, a city where she has lived for several years, she has developed a solid career marked by the fusion of classical Arabic repertoire, jazz and Mediterranean music.

Started in 2024, Monia’s Quartet Arab Flamenco Project delves into the meeting points between the Arabic music and the flamenco, recovering shared influences and opening new contemporary creation spaces. Through original compositions, original arrangements and reinterpretations of both repertoires, the concert highlights a common cultural heritage that has united the two shores of the Mediterranean for centuries.

With this performance, the Three Cultures Foundation reaffirms its commitment to projects that promote understanding between cultures and highlight flamenco as a universal language capable of building bridges between traditions, peoples and sensibilities.
