Project 'Learning as a family'

Details

During the second half of September, the Fundación Tres Culturas and Sevilla Acoge will launch a project to raise awareness in the framework of the Alqantara programme. Learning as a family, which aims to promote the learning of Spanish among Moroccans living in Seville and its province and, at the same time, the learning of classical Arabic among their children, whether they were born here or came here very young, so that they do not lose the link with the country of origin of their mothers and fathers.

In this sense, it is important that both lines of action go hand in hand: on the one hand, the acquisition of the necessary tools for social and labour inclusion through the learning of Spanish language and culture. And on the other hand, the recognition and reinforcement necessary to value the origin through the learning of the language and culture of origin, in our case Fusha Arabic and Moroccan culture.

It is therefore a joint methodological approach in which the groups of parents and children will share timetables and close spaces, thus allowing for family reconciliation and the attendance of families to the classes.

The classes, which are completely free of charge, will be held twice a week and will last two hours per class. They will work on language learning in a global way, taking into account the skills of oral expression, written expression, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, audio-visual comprehension, oral interaction and written interaction.

The first trimester, from 19 September to 20 December, takes place at the Centro Cívico Hogar de San Fernando.
