CREAMOS Project. Meeting with Yolanda Romero and Younès Rahmoun

The Fundación Tres Culturas is participating for the first time in the TRANSFORMACIONES series of conferences, organised every year by the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo with great public success and a high level of speakers.

On this occasion and within the framework of the CREAMOS project and its constant activity of encounters, Yolanda Romero, director of the José Guerrero Centre in Granada, is invited to dialogue with the Moroccan artist Younès Rahmoun.

He works and lives in Tetouan, where he graduated from the National Institute of Fine Arts in 1998. His work present in Paris Photo, Venice and Marrakech Biennials, is today in public and private collections such as the collection of the Doha Museum of Arab Modern Art in Qatar. "Younès Rahmoun's plural and diverse work gathers/mixes influences from his personal universe, his origins, beliefs and experiences. This artist uses a vocabulary based on numbers, colours and shapes to create an art of great aesthetics and beauty that tends towards universality. Without limiting his forms of expression to a single medium, Younès Rahmoun explores with great curiosity the possibilities offered by the contemporary world. YOLANDA ROMERO (www.centroguerrero.org)

Director of the José Guerrero Centre in Granada, where she has managed the founding legacy, as well as its programme of exhibitions and activities from 2000 to the present day. Previously, she was an advisor on historical-artistic heritage for the Diputación de Granada, in charge of programming the galleries of the Palacio de los Condes de Gabia, as well as its Contemporary Art Collection. President of the Association of Contemporary Art Directors of Spain (ADACE). Appointed by the Ministry of Culture to lead the Drafting Team of the Strategic Plan for the Visual Arts. Curator of numerous exhibitions dedicated to artists such as Soledad Sevilla, Helen Levitt, Richard Misrach, William Wegman, Richard Avedon, Antoni Muntadas, among many others.
