Tres Culturas thus joins in the remembrance of the eighty years that have passed since the bombing of the Spanish Basque town of Guernica during the Civil War.
During these eighty years, 1937 - 2017, numerous artists, intellectuals and various peoples have echoed that destruction every time a new tragedy has struck a part of the Mediterranean world.
Nissrine Seffar, a young French-Moroccan visual artist who, having lived on both sides of the Mediterranean, and now in France since 2011, feels very close to the social and historical events of these countries.
He has conceived this version of Picasso's Guernica, inspired by the Arab Spring, and has created a pictorial universe of the places and countries around the Mediterranean marked by tragedy through different symbolisms that unite all Mediterranean societies.
Halfway between exhibition and performance, Nissrine Seffar's Guernica acts as different parts of a whole that make sense through a common thread representing human suffering.
